Short answer

Paint correction at A-1 Auto Detailing starts at $300 in Pleasant Hill, IA. Levi decontaminates the paint, then machine-polishes it to remove swirl marks, car-wash marring, light scratches and light oxidation, and seals the result. It restores depth and gloss, and it is the right first step before a ceramic coating.

What paint correction actually fixes

Most dull or hazy paint is not faded. It is covered in thousands of fine scratches from washing, drying and automatic car washes. In sunlight they show up as circles around every reflection.

Polishing removes a very thin layer of clear coat to level those scratches, which is why the gloss comes back. It is done carefully, and only as much as the paint needs.

What it cannot fix

Scratches that go through the clear coat into the color or primer, rock chips and failing clear coat need paint work, not polishing. Levi assesses the paint before starting and tells you what will and will not come out.

Correct first, then protect

Polishing leaves bare, freshly leveled clear coat. A sealant is included to protect it, and a ceramic coating is the long-term option. Not sure which you need? Read paint correction vs. ceramic coating.
